Unfortunately, Apple never offered an update so I had to find an alternative that would work with the smart cover.Even with the smart cover I never felt that my iPad was secure when I was carrying it. The shiny rear surface looks nice but you might as well be carrying melting ice for all the grip you feel you have. The Belkin Snap Shield attached with no problem at all--it just snapped in place. Even better, the cutouts leave more than enough room to easily locate the power and volume switches. With it and the smart cover on the iPad it never feels slippery when I carry it: just what I was looking for. And it's thin enough that I didn't notice any great change in the thickness. Keeps coming off and has hairline cracks near the corner. Had one of these on my iPad 2 and it fit beautifully. Better avoid this until Belkin can make it fit like the 2s. This does not interfere with the Smart Cover working and protects the back of the iPad from getting scratched.It keeps the form-factor quite slim and doesn't seem to add much weight yet offers good protection and is a perfect fit. The only drawback is that it gives your iPad a plastic feel instead of the nice metal, and the price seems a bit high. |
